The Live Profile
Touring lineup
- Principal 1994 lineup: Trent Reznor, Robin Finck, Danny Lohner, Chris Vrenna, James Woolley
- Later phases: Dissonance, the 1995 club run, and Nights of Nothing used phase-specific personnel and should not inherit the 1994 lineup by default.
Stage and lighting
- The 1994 design used tall spotlight columns, draped material, hanging linen, a front scrim removed during the opening song, stained risers, and shock-mounted keyboard hardware.
- The Bowie and later club phases are treated separately because their staging cannot be assumed to match the principal 1994 production.
Setlist patterns
- A common 1994 opening moved from Pinion into Terrible Lie, Sin, and March of the Pigs.
- Quieter tension and destructive peaks alternated through Something I Can Never Have, Closer, Reptile, Wish, and Suck.
- Head Like a Hole usually anchored the climax, with Dead Souls, Help Me I Am in Hell, Happiness in Slavery, and later Burn appearing around the closing sequence.
Support acts and co-bills
- Die Krupps, Fem 2 Fem, Marilyn Manson, PIG, Treponem Pal, Type O Negative, and the Jim Rose Circus appeared across the wider cycle.
- David Bowie is classified as a co-headliner and collaborator during Dissonance rather than a conventional support act.
