Influences and the Wider Creative Network

Marilyn Manson
Marilyn Manson was signed to Nothing Records, and Reznor produced Portrait of an American Family and Antichrist Superstar. The two projects shared personnel and touring connections during the 1990s before their professional relationship ended publicly.
Industrial Lineage
Early industrial artists and labels provided part of the musical context for Nine Inch Nails. Reznor later worked directly with members of Coil and shared bills, remix credits, and professional connections with musicians associated with Wax Trax and Ministry.
Peter Murphy
Peter Murphy’s work with Bauhaus influenced the alternative and post-punk music surrounding Nine Inch Nails. Murphy performed with Reznor during a series of 2006 radio sessions featuring songs by Bauhaus, Joy Division, Pere Ubu, and Nine Inch Nails.
Halsey and Modern Collaborations

HEALTH and Fever Ray are later artists working across industrial, electronic, and experimental music. Their direct collaborations with Nine Inch Nails connect that influence to new recordings instead of leaving it as a historical comparison.
