The Live Profile
Touring lineup
- Principal touring lineup: Trent Reznor, Robin Finck, Alessandro Cortini, Ilan Rubin
- Official member / studio partner: Atticus Ross remained central to Nine Inch Nails as an official member and studio partner rather than a regular onstage performer.
- Blossom guests: Richard Patrick, Danny Lohner, Charlie Clouser, and Chris Vrenna appeared for the final six songs as event guests, not full-tour members.
Stage and lighting
- The 2017–2018 presentation deliberately stepped back from a technology race, using scrim, direct lighting, smoke, and recording-tape strands that recalled early NIN imagery.
- Lower production dependency made unusually variable setlists possible during Cold and Black and Infinite.
- The 2022 return substantially reused the 2018 philosophy with modified lighting racks rather than a new arena-scale system.
Setlist patterns
- The 2017 dates often opened around The Fireman, Branches/Bones, Wish, and Less Than before moving through Trilogy and earlier material.
- Cold and Black and Infinite used seven different openers, album and EP blocks, debuts, rare songs, and rotating guests; Head Like a Hole and Hurt remained frequent closing anchors.
- NIN 2022 continued the variability and added debuts or revivals including Everything, Sunspots, Fashion, and Isn't Everyone.
Support acts and co-bills
- The Jesus and Mary Chain was the principal special guest in 2018, with Tobacco, Kite Base, Daniel Avery, Death in Vegas, Gabe Gurnsey, HMLTD, and The Soft Moon appearing in related slots.
- Nitzer Ebb, Yves Tumor, Boy Harsher, 100 gecs, and Ministry appeared during 2022.
