Four Direct Paths Back to Nine Inch Nails

1000 Homo DJs / Supernaut

The original recording preserves Trent Reznor’s vocal performance, connecting the Wax Trax industrial network to the earliest Nine Inch Nails period and to a performance later obscured by release circumstances.

Pigface / Gub

A short studio encounter produced the early version of “Suck.” The later Nine Inch Nails recording belongs to Broken, making Gub part of the song’s provenance rather than a general side-project listing.

David Bowie / I’m Afraid of Americans

Reznor’s remix and reinterpretation became the defining single version, extending the Bowie relationship beyond the shared Dissonance stage into recording, video, and the Earthling era.

Songs Beyond the Numbered Halo Sequence

Deep

The 2001 Lara Croft: Tomb Raider soundtrack single exists in album, radio-edit, and instrumental forms and later entered the With Teeth-era live repertoire.

Theme for Tetsuo: The Bullet Man

The instrumental film theme brings a Nine Inch Nails performance into Shinya Tsukamoto’s Tetsuo world, with Trent Reznor writing and Atticus Ross producing.

John Carpenter’s Halloween

Reznor and Ross recast Carpenter’s theme as a standalone 2017 instrumental. The archive distinguishes the full 7:49 release from the shortened 2018 vinyl mispress.

Isn’t Everyone

The 2021 HEALTH and Nine Inch Nails collaboration joins both groups as performers and producers; a limited 7-inch followed the digital single, and the song reached the stage in 2022.
