Watchmen: Volume 3
United States releaseDecember 18, 2019
The final Watchmen volume accompanies the series as its separate histories and character stories converge. The collection includes some of the score's broadest contrasts, moving from ominous electronics to reflective piano, invented archival music, and a stark interpretation of David Bowie's "Life on Mars?"
The physical release was framed as The Manhattan Project, a lost final album by the fictional band The Nine Inch Nails. Together, the three volumes form a 39-track score and a set of narrative objects designed to exist inside the world of the series.
