The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
United States release
December 9, 2011
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo reunited Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross with director David Fincher for a score lasting nearly three hours. Cold ambience, granular rhythms, drones, and brittle acoustic details accompany the film's Swedish winter and methodical investigation.
The album opens with Reznor, Ross, and Karen O transforming Led Zeppelin's “Immigrant Song” and closes with How To Destroy Angels covering Bryan Ferry's “Is Your Love Strong Enough?” Between them is an unusually expansive dramatic score.
