Work with Nine Inch Nails
Russell Mills created mixed-media works that became inseparable from The Downward Spiral and its related releases. Organic material, corrosion, layered surfaces, and bodily suggestion give the imagery its sense of decay and transformation.
He returned for Hesitation Marks and later gathered the wider body of work into Cargo in the Blood. The archive maps each work to its release, edition, object, and later reuse rather than treating all imagery as one undifferentiated style.
