Halo 27
The Slip
United States release
May 5, 2008
The Slip was released without advance promotion as a free download, only weeks after it was written and recorded. The compressed schedule gives the album a raw, immediate character that Trent Reznor described as “garage electronics.”
Its first half drives through concise rock and electronic songs before the record opens into the quieter spaces of “Lights In The Sky,” “Corona Radiata,” and “The Four Of Us Are Dying.” A limited physical edition followed with live rehearsal video.
